Ray Incident

This film is a collaboration between Skjaldborn and Ray Incident. We were asked by Ray to produce a piece of art inspired by their Incidental 33: Fanfare Incidence - the first track from Ray's album, Incidence.

THE PROJECT

The music is artistic and dark and this inspired us to do a video, with a dreamy and dark fantasy vibe. Stylistically the film is a homage to a style that was mostly present in experimental cartoons back in the 80’s.

It made sense to make the film a mirror of society, and show what we as humans are doing to nature and our planet in order to make money and feel good. A short sighted vision that disregards the consequences this will have for the next generation.

We wanted to create an ominous mood and feel for each action the humans take in order to gain power.

The film uses a deer to symbolize Earth and Nature, that in the end turns into a dragon in order to stop the destruction - a reminder that nature is not passive, and there are consequences to come.

THE STORY

Three adventurers will do anything for wealth and power. Nothing stops them as they grow in strength and destroy the world around them… But the ancient gods of nature know when enough is enough. They are first represented as a scared and innocent deer, but the deer eventually turns into something much more fierce.

We’re proud to have collaborated with Ray Incident on this bold, and poetic piece - and to continue exploring the edges of animated storytelling.
